Topic: Tips, Tricks and Tutorials / Fx room full explanation Hi, Sorry for the slight delay. Had to locate the original files, so that it didn’t compress all to hell on YouTube. Here’s the link: It’s the first ten minutes of Exercise four. Hope it’s helpful for you. Cheers, |

Topic: Tips, Tricks and Tutorials / Fx room full explanation Hi, it’s Ben from Curious Turtle here. Thanks for the mention. I agree that the ColorFX room is very powerful and in my opinion highly underrated. Probably due to the fact that it can be hugely intimidating to new users. However, once you get the hang of it the fun really starts! A helpful tip is to start thinking of the nodes in terms of building up little widgets. If you create a small node tree to do a highlight glow, save it. You’ve got a node tree that makes a hi-con black and white image, bring that saved highlight glow back in! Bang, you got a new effect! Those big trees are made up of smaller branches and breaking those branches down is significantly easier to do. I spend quite a lot of time (the best part of two hours) in the ColorFX room in my training set Creative Color Grading. It goes from basic ideas, to creating and reusing widgets and showing why you’d want to use some of the more obscure nodes. I’m not sure about the direct linking policy here, but you can have a look at it on the Curious Turtle website. I’ll see what I can do about putting an excerpt of one of the ColorFX exercises up on YouTube. Cheers, |
