When the Cheap designer handbags, in fact, come from the supplier, the price tag isn’t high. It is the merchants and retailers that mark up the cost, to allow them to make as much profits as they can off the cheap handbags. That’s complete foolishness and rubbish and a person should not have to pay for somebody else’s processing fees.
When purchasing a cheap handbag it is quite crucial that the handbag includes a certificate of authenticity.

Thanks for chiming in on this board Ben, its heartwarming to see industry professionals like yourself contributing and sharing their knowledge. I bought the Creative Color product and the Digital Video Color Grading product a few weeks ago. Well worth it :) How did you go about getting fashion clients, I’d love to do that sort of work as it would really push me CC-wise. I’m just doing ‘boring’ docco stuff. I need some excitement in my life ;-)

Hi,

Sorry for the slight delay. Had to locate the original files, so that it didn’t compress all to hell on YouTube.

Topic: Hello ColorUsers!

Well, i will try because I`m begginer. I like color finesse very much because CF have several and good tools. The tools are better than the 3 way correctors found in softwares like adobe premiere and final cut pro. But when I started my study with the apple color I felt more control in the image, because CF have only “primary room” and “srcondary room”. CF is a good software for color corrections.

Yes. In the secondary, under Shape, choose “User shape”. This will give you the controls to make a custom vignette. Make your selection.

In the panel to the right you have an attribute for “Softness”. You adjust the softness of the user shape vignette with this. But you have to remember to click the “Attach” button before you can see any changes.

From there, you can adjust inside and outside the vignette, and you can even animate the vignette point by point as needed. And you can of course combine with other secondary adjustments to give some extra focus on a certain detail, vehicle, building, logo, you name it.

Simply draw your shape and attach it to a secondary, and from there you adjust your colors and exposure as you normally would with any other circular or square vignette.

Topic: Fx room full explanation

Hi, it’s Ben from Curious Turtle here. Thanks for the mention.

I agree that the ColorFX room is very powerful and in my opinion highly underrated. Probably due to the fact that it can be hugely intimidating to new users. However, once you get the hang of it the fun really starts!

A helpful tip is to start thinking of the nodes in terms of building up little widgets. If you create a small node tree to do a highlight glow, save it. You’ve got a node tree that makes a hi-con black and white image, bring that saved highlight glow back in! Bang, you got a new effect! Those big trees are made up of smaller branches and breaking those branches down is significantly easier to do.

I spend quite a lot of time (the best part of two hours) in the ColorFX room in my training set Creative Color Grading. It goes from basic ideas, to creating and reusing widgets and showing why you’d want to use some of the more obscure nodes. I’m not sure about the direct linking policy here, but you can have a look at it on the Curious Turtle website.

I’ll see what I can do about putting an excerpt of one of the ColorFX exercises up on YouTube.

Cheers,
Ben

Topic: Fx room full explanation

When the average user walks into the fx room, it’s a little scary as It’s truly ‘roll your own’ territory. Not like FCP or After Effects where you drag and drop a filter on and you immediately see the effect. Not only are you forced to know what each node does but what combination of nodes do something useful and aesthetically pleasing. It’s hard, really hard and who has time for extensive experimentation… The closest I’ve seen to node heavy fx-room work is the stuff put out by curious turtle

If you’re looking for fx-heavy, then they are it. The problem for me is its so fx heavy as to be totally intimidating to the average user (me!) I think, wow , I would never be able to think up the trees he’s building, and I give up right there!

He has a youtube channel, search for curious turtle.

Short of that, there’s a PDF put out by Richard Harrington (who I think is one of the most underrated, truly selfless and giving guys out there) which goes through justabout every filter in Photoshop, and seeing as what we’re doing is kinda PS but in motion, I think its really useful. You can get it thru this link

I hope this helps,

Any advanced users reading this post please chime in. I’d like to know too!

You could be able to use the inside or outside, but only a mask for tab of the secondary room.
Into the tab, one key or one vignette or both.

Topic: A Better Black & White

So you’ve got some footage that needs to be turned Black & White.

Run it through the Color FX room’s B&W filter.

What’s it like?

With a bit of Shadow and Highlights it’s improved but still not all that great…

So, Color’s Black & White filter is , well, a bit ‘meh’ , so here’s a better one.

Reset your Primary in and reset your Color FX room. Drag and drop the RGB Split node. This lets you view/manipulate the image channel by channel

If you use three of these along with some curve nodes, you effectively have the Curves controls , but in the Color FX room. But we’re not going to do that. We’ll use just one and go through the options…

Blue..

Urgh! , next!

Green..

Nice!

Red..

Arguably even better… It’s a toss up between Red and Green…

So, we’ll want to make our contrast adjustments. Instead of using the color wheels, we’re going to use the individual color channel’s curves in the Primary In Room.

If you chose Red, then make a Red S-curve…

If you chose Green, then make a Green S-curve…

If you couldn’t decide, do both, as each curve is independent of each other (but the Blue curve does have an effect, more on that later), just flip the switch in the CFX room to switch between them.

Here’s Red…

And here’s Green…

I’m sure you’ll agree, they look better than the stock B&W filter

So there you have it, a Better Black & White.

But wait.. there’s more 8-)

We can jazz this up a bit… for that we’ll need these on top of what we already have…

You did download Natress didn’t you?

Let’s luma-key the highlights. Grab the highlights from the American flag and tweak the range so that you include the highlights from the dress and similar items of luma value…

then blur the result…

and feed that into G_Blend set to “Screen”

Before…

After…

mmm! nice! “But they’re looking a little green Marcus…”

Ok, pipe that into the lower portion of your stack…

Bingo! Nice diffuse highlights, but maybe a bit much…

If you use the Blue curve, it will temper the glow a bit or you could dial back the luma slider…

Ok, now here’s the bit that wrung my brain out for an hour or two…

I wanted to pipe this into a de-focus vignette, where the subject is in focus, but the outer edges are de-focussed. It took me a while but here’s the recipe…

Make a Vignette…

and here are the settings…

Soften…

Blur for your De-focus…

And here’s your final result… Subject in focus, outer edges de-focussed 8-)

So there you have it, a “Better Black & White™ ” , with a De-Focus Vignette as a bonus!

If you don’t need the de-focus part, you can always disable the blur and vignette.

As a final touch, you could add a hint of color in Primary out. Just a touch of blue or sepia in shadows or mids.

Happy Coloring!

Marcus.
