Topic: New to Color - How to make the diffusion/glow effect?

So I had a look at trying to re-create the Diffusion Effect from MBL. I think it’s just a variation on the Meyer’s Instant Sex approach.

I did this a couple of ways:

1] Get your image in to a nice place contrast-wise, i.e. nice blacks-nice whites

In the Color FX room, do this, cranking the Blur between 5 and 10

Set your Source 1 + 2 Bias to 1.0

In Primary-In, you may have to bring your Mids waaaaaay down, your whites down some and your Blacks up a tad

What you end up with is this.

The other way is to substitute the Add node for Graeme Nattress’ G_Blend set to “Screen” following what I just outlined.
