Topic: Tips, Tricks and Tutorials / Tipical newbie question.. be patient with me God has not finished with me yet!!! Hi Francesco, Im trying to understand what you mean by “I’d like to simply use the FX vignette correction I see the effect in Color but I’m not able to export the corrected video sequence to FC” I admit, Color looks imtimidating at first but once you know your way around, it’s a really nice program to do your color correction in. For beginners there’s the Studio 006 Podcast which is a nice beginners guide to Color. make sure you start at Episode 32 which is the oldest episode there. http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/studio006/id262446058 Steve Hullfish has some introductory tutorials on Pro Video Coalition http://provideocoalition.com/index.php/shullfish/P48/ Same deal. Oldest episode first, work your way back through the blog posts to the front. There’s also some introductory tutorials here http://library.creativecow.net/tutorials/applecolor Another one here Good luck, once you get your head around it , it’s a really cool program! Don’t be afraid, you can’t break anything |

Topic: Tips, Tricks and Tutorials / Lomo Picture Look Hi Bruno, See Edited info at the end of this post for import instructions I’ve only had a cursory look, but it seems like ‘cross processing’. There’s a preset I created on the site called Ekta Cross Pro http://www.coloruser.net/grades/34-ekta-cross-pro Here’s the test image:
EDIT In order to use the image in Color, you need to convert it to tiff. |

Topic: The art of Color / Creamy fashion grade
It looks kinda lo-contrast magenta-ish with yellow highlights ? Primaries I lifted the blacks and pushed them in a Magenta direction.
Desaturation main and Highlights
ColorFx I luma keyed the highlights
and gave them a good dose of blur and composited that over itself using Nattress G-Blend set to Screen mode, just to ‘puff’ the highlights a bit.
Primary Out Bring down the highlights so you can raise the midtones, thus making that range less contrasty. Send the highlights yellow-ish.
However, not all contrast should be banished so I added a gentle S-curve to bring a little of it back in the shadows.
Hope this helps. -M |

Topic: Workflow / workflow premiere pro Yeah, you could Export an uncompressed Quicktime “Baked Master” out of Premiere and an EDL as well. Inside Color, import the EDL, ticking “Use as Cut List”, then browse to your uncompressed QT and it should import with the cuts in the right place. I should note however that this only worked for me on simple cuts-only projects with everything on V1. Anything more than cuts and dissolves, then it doesn’t work so well ! so I would go with the XML way I suggested earlier. |

Topic: Tips, Tricks and Tutorials / Color FX not showing. I tried building your tree here. Obviously the footage that i’m using is not going to look the same. You’re doing some kind of blur/ outer glow? what’s your intent? how is this supposed to look? maybe post a graded frame of one that looks right and an ungraded frame so we can apply the effect here? other than that, I’m not sure. |
