I am loving Color. Have figured out most of the rooms, and can balance a scene using the parade scope. Is there an easy way to White Balance, ala FCP where you pick a shade in a scene and match it to white?

There’s the autobalance button in the Primary room. What you could also do is what you are doing already, and that is to use the parade+vector scopes in conjunction with the still-store. Take a still of the ideally balanced shot, go to the shot you want to match and display the loaded still. pick a screen-split and balance away.

The autobalance tool doesn’t really work if the shot is awkwardly shot. Some broadcast monitors also have a still store function so you can stick in a shot and match away. Thing about the still store is that I haven’t found a way to use it effectively. I’d really like to control the transition between the reference clip and the grading clip from the primary in/secondary rooms instead of going into the still store. Or have a two up view of the two shots side by side.

The other thing you could try is the match grade FCP plugin from the Kronos.
