Hey guys looking for some help, we are setting up a Color Suite in our new office. I’ve heard before that you should color in a 50% grey room at low light. Can you guys give your input on this. Thanks.

I saw somewhere a SMPTE recommendation that the environment should be 10% of maximum luminance of the monitor.
So I googled it and found this pdf

yes .. you should watch the background… and yous should be grading on a grey one. because the black backgrounds makes the photo more contrast and for the white it looks with lower contrast

so a grey one should be the optimum .. and u also have to have ur eyes refreshed by looking to a completely dark and completely white backgrounds

Last year the neutral color NCS 3000 was the correct color to use but Fogra have recently changed it to NCS5000.
