I save everything and render my clips, everything is exported correctly, then I close Color.

Now here’s the Problem: Whenever I start Color again, and open my project, everything is still in place BUT… the Tracker “Status Lights” are RED!
I then scrub through the clip and see, that the Vignettes aren’t moving along the tracker points anymore. When I am in the Tracking Tab in Geometry Room i can see both tracker.1 and tracker.2, both displayed with a red status light. When i select a tracker i can see every point and the created trackpath in the “dimmed tracking” window, in the timeline i even see the small green in and out bar, indicating available tracking data, however, nothing happens when I play the clip, scrub through it or even render the shot again: The vignettes stay where they are and don’t follow the obviously available trackers.

As there is no way to save trackers like you save shapes, grades or looks i have no idea why this is happening. I tried reinstalling Color, deleting preferences, repairing permissions.. using different and more “easy” project/media/render directorys… also attaching a user shape to a tracker and saving the shape did not help… actually…I think i almost tried everything but nothing helped unfortunately…

I don’t believe doing all the tracking work again after closing and reopening a project is a new feature of Color 1.5…. so does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I feel your pain. And this is the reason I tend to keyframe anything I need movement on in Color. Unfortunately, you will have to grade the vignette first, then keyframe. Haven’t tested it, but maybe it’s possible to copy to a bank, and then paste from that bank again if you need to change and go back to different settings during the shot.

Tracking doesn’t work for me either. I use Shake instead when I need it.

The Pro Applications Update 2010-01 supposedly addresses the tracking problems. I haven’t installed it yet, but maybe others who have can comment.
