It would be great to have a little showroom here. I’m interested about your work, and some of you might be interested in mine too.. Would make it easier to search and find others work really quick. Content of threads should link to stills or videoclips, maybe a before and after grading.

The best thing would probably let the user upload a .mov wherever he or she wants and then link to it, and maybe make it easy to add a thumbnail which will fit the forum on it’s width axis.

If the video is added as a youtube or other embedded player the site might cause the browser to crash. At least I have problems on some sites or forums with LOADS of embedded video which makes the browser go all Hiroshima on me.

Maybe a thread should have certain things like

Project: name

Client: clients name

Format: PAL or something

Produced: Year

Link: Click me

Aha. Would you then fill in the “Project, Client, Format…” fields when you create a new topic (thread)? This would mark it as a special “I have stuff to show” thread then, which could be searchable?

Exactly. A standard setup of basic information like that would make the thread easier to “get to the point” straight away, rather than reading a bunch of text. IF the user wanna write something more about the project, it’s nice. Problems or something they think is extremely cool etc., I would encourage them to do so, it gives us more info and maybe it adds to the “WOW!” when you see the clips/stills.

If we get a “Showroom” just like you got the “Workflow” and “Suggestions” area of the forum, it would be easier to just click your way through others work and gain more inspiration and information from others in a visual way.

Writing is important too, but I think this forum lacks its own place to show off what you’re doing. :)

What we could do right away is to create a “Showroom” forum with a sticky top post on how to format your posts. The format would be in the manner you describe. This would not need any extra coding and can be done instantly.

Any other thoughts from involved users? amazingGrades? ferreira?

Light loading would be very appreciated…I haven’t got any serious work for now…at least ;-) Just methods..hehe

Oh and an uploading feature with fixed presets so that people don’t upload monster videos in size and file size…
